| Persons applying for membership in the Louisiana Society of Independent Accountants must meet at least one of the qualifications listed below for either Active Membership, Associate Membership, Student Associate, Retired Associate, or Non-Resident Associate Membership. |

Active Member Qualifications
Persons in public practice applying for Active Membership must be able to meet any one of the following requirements.
|
Possess a valid permit/license as a Public Accountant, Certified Public Accountant or such other title as granted under the state law for the practice of accountancy to the public.
- Accredited in accountancy or taxation by the Accreditation Council for Accountancy in Accountancy or Taxation
- Enrolled to practice before the IRS
- Possess an associate or baccalaureate degree with a minimum of 24 semester hours in accounting.

Associate Member Qualifications
Persons not meeting Active Member qualifications may apply for LSIA membership as an Associate Member.
|

|
|
|
Student Associate Member Qualifications
Pursuing a course of study in accounting, business administration, or related subjects in a college, university or business school on a full time basis. |
|
|
Educator Associate Member Qualifications
Employed as an instructor in accounting at an accredited college, community college or university. |
|
|
Retired Member Qualifications
Persons who have been members of the LSIA for ten continuous years, attained the age of 65 or older, and who have retired from public practice. TEST B. |

Non-Resident Member Qualifications
Persons from other states that would otherwise qualify as Active Members in LSIA. |
